The Stampscapes® 101: 3-Step, Lesson II, Frames 1-3
Moonlit Ledge Scene

Lesson 2, Frame 1

First I positioned the Ledge stamp in the center of the card. Dark hues were used. Placed above the ledge was the Full Moon large. The moon was meant to be the illuminating source in the composition so it was colored light blue. To give the Buck design a nice silhouette against the bright moon, it too was colored in dark hues. Having a dark shape next to the light moon added contrast and widened the value range in the piece.

Lesson 2, Frame 2

Second, use the Tonal Applicator to blend the images even further through value and hue. Directing the light through the use of tone, I stamped around the rays of light and left an area in the cloud white--so as to project a feeling of a light source beyond the clouds. Be careful not to stamp out everything with the T.A. if you want to retain your light source. Pink was used to add variety and richness to the color scheme. Where it overlapped the light blue, a violet hue formed.

Lesson 2, Frame 3

Third, the Spruce lg. was repeated across the scene in a dark tone--inking the stamp w/each impression. Then a smaller spruce was added using slightly lighter tones to add visual depth. Then, last but not least, an extra fine Opaque White paint pen added the final touches. ŠKJN 1994
