The Stampscapes® 101: Simplescapes
Birthday Row

Simplescapes, Birthday Row, Frame I

1)  Ranger Industries BIG and Juicy "Happy Birthday" was brayered on to the card but not straight out of the pad. I wanted an isolated glow coming from the inside area of the card to represent a horizon glow --sunrise/sunset type of thing.

The lightest area of the rainbow pad is to the far right of the color swatch but, here, I want that color in the interior of the scene. I don't want yellow on the top or bottom. So, in this scene, you can see I'm brayering about half of the card.

I've re-inked the brayer and flipped the card over and slightly overlapping that first application of color I brayer as usual on to the second half of the card. Where the two applications merge, it will appear as though you're going to get a line but just keep rolling the brayer for several passes and the two sections should eventually smoothly blend into one.

The eventual goal. A smooth glow coming from the interior of the scene. Is that area asking for a treeline or what?!

2)  Lakeside Cove Lg 049G was stamped in black. It was centered in this scene where I had open spaces to the left and right of the image. I just stamped the Cove two more times to each side of the initial impression and continued the cove to the sides of the card.

3)  Oak Branch 203G was stamped in black two times to add depth to the scene.

4)  Solo Canoeist 159A and Reeds Lg 068D were stamped in black.

5)  Gel pen details were added to the sky to represent stars.

This scene can be done in about 5 minutes tops. In a pinch? This is a good way to go.
