Artist's notes: Here is an example of the Tonal applicator, the Splash stamp, and stencil and stipple brushes used to lay color on the piece. The sky was first stamped with Cloud cumulus and the tonal applicator was used to layer on light dye based inks. Then the Splash stamp was used to add interest and more structure in the sky using a slightly darker dye based ink. The rest of the piece was colored with stencil and stipple brushes utilizing a variety of dye based inks.
