Lesson: Blue Brook Falls
The Solitude and the Spin. 4.25" x 5.5" glossy card stock

Brook Falls is seen here. I'm wiping off some of the black ink off of the bottom of the stamp but not all of it. I wanted the base of the falls to have a misty appearance to it and lightening some of the ink will lend itself to this look.

Lighter areas within the design impression are around the falling water on the top and bottom level.

Ledge and Wading Fisherman were added in black ink.

Applying Ranger Sea Shells "Ocean Aqua" dye based ink to the scene with a Colorbox Stylus Tool.

Marvy Matchable "Salvia Blue" #60 was added here in streaks for variation and depth in the water.

Marvy "Pale Orange" #16 was added to the waterfall and foreground rocks.

Ranger Distress Ink "Old Paper" was added to the rocks in select areas. It was mainly added to the darker areas within the designs.

Marvy "Light Blue" #10 was added to the sky and water. In the water it was added in streaks.

I thought the separation between the rocks and water was too distinct so I added some of the #10 Light Blue to the rocks which I thought gave the elements continuity.

Water Pattern small was added to the scene in Ranger Sea Shells "Ocean Aqua" and Marvy #10. The lighter of the two inks was used for the lighter area of the water.

Shimmering water.

Marvy "Blue" #3 was used to deepen the shadows and framing of the scene.

Leafless Limbs Lg was added to the foreground in black.

Three impressions of Leafless Limbs Lg were added in various heights to the scene. This design used to be the one that I would add to 70% of all my scenes for added depth. After using it in this scene it put the hook in me again and makes me want to start using it again in more scenes.

Adding highlights to areas on the scene with a white gel pen.

Solitude in Blue.
