3.5" x 5" Oval Stampbord. Dye Based inks.

Note: A range of pink and red dye based inks were applied to the Stampbord with the darkest of blues reserved for the perimeter of the oval. Leave the center of the oval with only the lighter of the red values used. This will create the illusion of a glowing surface. The figure from Symmetry Sheet 6 was stamped in black. I hadn't used this piece of rubber before and I didn't "season" it enough so I didn't get a perfectly stamped image. It was a little blotchy in the darkest/solid areas so I filled those areas in using a Colorbox Stylus Tool and black ink. Additional small flourishes were added around the figure in black ink to frame her off better. Highlights were scratched into the figure and flourishes using a scratch knife. The matting really helps this piece. I used several layers of metallsic papers including the dark metalic plum one with the larger of the two flourishes to create the pattern on it. Additional black ink was applied in a sponging technique on this silver paper to create a varied surface of lights and darks but mainly to create a darker border on the matte.
