A heightened notion of space through the use of value: Creating the illusion of space in a scene is easy with the application of your color scheme on the images themselves. Both scenes utilize the same transparent dye based colors in the layering process using the Tonal Applicator 084E. The scene above uses some of these colors applied to the images in a near-to-far/dark-to-light manner (the closer the object - the darker the ink). Value changes create a notion of implied suspended particles in the space between the objects. The particles break up the light and diffuse the objects reflected image. The greater the distance - the greater number of particles the light has to travel through thus becoming lighter and less intense. Two different views of the lake. Two different statements. One is more about the objects, the other- light & space. Contrast against subtlety. Bold against delicate. Orchestrate the objects, within the scene, to match your mind's vision as to what emotional quality you wish your space to evoke.
