"Snaps of Fantasy" by Norice Wakumoto, HI 10/97

Construction piece with alternating pull straps revealing three different scenes within a single structure. Application of color achieved by using the Tonal Applicator 084E.

Note: Each scene is great in itself but this structuring really puts it over the top. In each unusual -round- composition there is a repetition of form. In the first there's the radiant sun and point of focus in the crystal ball. In the second the Crescent Moon peaks out from behind the Oak Branch. In the third, there's the actual stamp image of Pegasus within a round border. This repetition of form gives continuity to the three scenes and mirrors the shape of the camera's lens. I also like how each scene takes on a different color scheme. Another elaborate construction from Norice. I think it has to be challenging or new -or both- for Norice after looking at all her work the past few years. I'm always quite stunned to see what comes out of her studio.
