The hikers had meticulously planned for every possible contingency; they were, however, hopelessly unprepared for Mother Bayou. Despite their fiery march through her dark shadows, Mother Bayou held her secrets. She obviously could not control Father Sun as evidenced by the explosion of solar light surprising them all.

The fabled undercurrents of Mystic Lake had their way with the great oarboat. We were unafraid...we knew these currents to be gentle. We released ourselves to the currents, and they rewarded us with the ever-changing phosphorescence of the passing vista.
