Scene by Linda Selymes, WA 2010

Artists Note: I wanted you to see the latest scene I did.Ê I've been taking Sandy Hulsart's brayer class on My Creative Classroom and I did this for week 2 sample.Ê The finished size is 4 1/2 by 6 1/2 inches.Ê First I stamped 015G and 075G about halfway down the page horizontally in archival ink and heat set it.Ê Ê Then I added a mask to the bottom starting at the bottom of the higher waterfall on the left; and brayered in peach bellini.Ê Then I added a circle mask for the orb; and brayered in watermelon and terra cotta.Ê Then I removed all the masks.Ê I stamped glowing orb in raisin making sure the much smaller orb was in the area that had been masked.Ê I used a cotton swab and streaked some raison through parts of the orb.ÊÊÊ Then I softened and toned down the oranges on the rocks by sponging inÊ stonewashed and gray.Ê On the bottom half I brayered in aqua, and stamped water pattern in stonewashed.Ê Then I sponged in some peach bellini, pool and stonewashed.Ê Using cotton swabs I added Brilliance Moonlight White and Pearlescent sky blue, and Colorbox frost white to parts of the waterfalls and water.Ê I also added some white gel pen. Finally I added large oak branch to the top and reeds to the bottom in black to frame the picture and draw the eye in.Ê The final step was to darken the corners slightly with Raisin and a tiny bit of black to the top; and stream and a tiny bit of black to the bottom.Ê I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.
