Vickie Kammerer Gallery III

Liked the Color Washes and bleach so much wondered if it would work with Radiant Rain Mists. I wasn't sure it would work as they are metallic. This might be my favorite. Again, same thing sprayed the Radiant Rain Mists on and then stamped with bleach. Pretty cool. -VK

This technique was born out of my extreme frustration with the box and block project. I could not get the technique to work. I was so frustrated I thought what the heck, I'm just going to bleach it off. I was pleasantly suprised with the outcome. Decided I like it so much, I did it on purpose. This is Color Washes sprayed and blended over the stampbord. Then I just stamped with bleach and of course it removed the Color Wash. -VK

The first pics here show what the milk resist looks like after you have heated it. The milk resist is equal parts sweetened condensed milk and skim milk. Stamped and heated. After you have it caramelized, you color it. The color will wash the caramel off and reveal the designs underneath. I sprayed Color Washes over the pieces and then wiped them off. The caramel comes off and you are left with the subdued inky shadows. -VK

They block literally has at least 14 layers on the edges what with all the techniques I tried that didn't work. Maybe we shouldn't even look at the crackle or it will come off again. The top was originally milk resist but for some unexplainable reason it did not work. I don't know if it was the masking. Its all I can come up with. I masked each design so I could over lap and then it didn't work after all that work. That is when I came up with the bleach. I was going to bleach it all off and give up and came up with this instead. -VK

The coaster set. Now it too met with all the same challenges as the block and has at least 14 layers also. The edges of the lid were to originally be real sand but I had a great deal of trouble getting it to stick and stay stuck so I gave up and went to distressed embossing powder to look like sand. And I am afraid if we look at the crackle it will come off again. If you look real close you will see at the bottom where it started to pop off again and I had to patch it. I did the best I could to salvage it. The shells. Oh boy. That is a coaster mounted to the top of the box for added dimension for when I glued the shells. I didn't want them to be recessed in with the surface so I mounted a coaster on the top and it looked better. But the shells took me 3 1/2 hours. I thought I would lose my mind and go blind !!! I did do the inside I just didn't photograph it yet as I am waiting for an item. The inside is painted turquoise and distressed white and I glued cork to the inside of the lid. I have a giant 3" sand dollar on its way and I will glue it to the inside of the lid so when you open it you will see it on the inside. It will be cool. The coasters are such a beautiful turquoise and they have cork on the bottom.
