GET AWAY FROM IT ALL
The rigors of daily life had distanced us. We had forgotten how to communicate, how to relate, to take time for the important things in life, to share, to love. A friend suggested that we "get away from it all" and spend a weekend in the mountains. What did we have to lose? It wasn't long before nature's magic took hold. The sight of birds against blue skies, the fragrant pine air, the tranquil sound of rustling tree limbs, the gentle lapping of our oars on the water's surface provided the therapy we needed so desperately. Just as the river's current cradled our canoe, I reached out and held her in my arms. We gazed into each others eyes like so many years ago. Heaven. Then, without warning, tears of tragedy in her eyes. I knew what she was thinking without a word spoken. We forgot the STAMPSCAPES.
