Silver Wings by Kevin Nakagawa, CA 2007
3.5" x 5" Oval Stampbord. Dye Based inks.
Note: A range of blue dye based inks were applied to the Stampbord with the darkest of blues reserved for the perimeter of the oval. Leave the center of the oval with only the lighter of the blue values used. This will create the illusion of a glowing surface. The smaller of the two butterflies found on the unmounted Symmetry sheet 3 was stamped on the board using black dye based ink. Highlights were scratched into the butterfly and flourishes bringing out light areas using a scratch knife. Large flourishes were added to the silver metallic paper matting. Additional black dye based ink was applied to the matte using a Colorbox Stylus Tool for framing purposes.
