Bodie Island Light by Joe Nathan NV 2002

Cape Hatteras National Sea Shoe, North Carolina Built 1837, rebuilt tower in 1859 to 80 feet tall. In 1861 Confederate troops filled the tower with explosives and blew it a part. Rebuilt in 1872 and then Geese crashed into the lantern & damaged the lens fixed and Bodie Isle has stood ever since.

Lighthouse is Cape Elizabeth, also known as Two Light. The Light was unique, the mariners approaching the light knew that by bearing to the right they had a true course into Portland Harbor...J.U.N.
