Location at North Carolina Cape Hatteras National Seashore built in 1837 and rebuilt in 1859. Stands 80 feet tall. 1861 Confederate troops filled the tower with explosives and blew it apart. Rebuilt in 1872 then geese crashed into the lantern and damaged the lens which was fixed and Bodie Isl. has stood ever since.

Location: Crescent City,Ca. Built 1856 in the same style as Cape Cod. Battery Pt. Served until its deactivation in 1953. Now a maritime museum and shines the light as a private aid to navigation. Over the years it has taken punishment from the sea including over wash by a tidal wave in 1964.

Cape Mears Lighthouse Northwest Of Tillamook, OR. Built 1890. Cape Mears is only 17 feet above ground and 232 feet above sea level allowing the light to be seen for 22 miles.
