Note: Beaver Island Light -- Location: Southern end of Beaver Island, MI. Built in 1858 and decommissioned 1962. Marks the West side of the approach used by most vessels passing from Lake Michigan into the straights of Mackinac. Currently owned by a school district for an environmental education center.

Noth Carolina outer banks. The lighthouse kept many a ship from cruising near the hazardous diamond shoals.
Art work: the water was done with a combo of two stamps by Joan E. Wear and Stampscapes®. Prisma colored pencils on boats and all the rest done with soft pastels and sealed with a fixactive for sharper-darker effect. Card stock by Ashton Papier.

"Heceta Head Lighthouse" by Joe Nathan, NV 2000
12 miles north of Florence, OR. Construction of stone from Clackamas River & brick & cement from San Francisco, both were shipped to the lighthouse location. Wood from the Oregon mills were rafted to the sight.

"Portland Lightships" by Joe Nathan NV 2000
Had a series of 4 ships in 72 years. 1903-1975 the job of the Portland lightship 112 was to act as as harbor control & examination ship. Stationed outside of submarine net. So that German subs could not sneak in.
