Gig Harbor, Washington by Joe Nathan NV 2001

The Bay was discovered by chance in 1841. By the Wilkes Expedition who were seeking refuge from a storm. They named the Harbor for the "gig," a type of boat.

Built 1858, 1872 located So. East Point of S. Manitou Island. Now is a Museum, which is part of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
