Country Chapel 215G is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.
Rocky Peaks 188F is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. If you stamp the Rocky Peaks twice on scrap paper then on your card stock without re-inking the stamp, it gives a very nice shade of gray.
We know we want the sun peaking up between 2 valleys of the Rocky Peaks mountain range roughly in the center of the sky area. To achieve this, stamp the Rocky Peaks first on the left half of the card stock, then stamp it on the right half of the card stock butting up the two sides of the mountain range. This allows you to create a valley between 2 peaks anywhere you want it.
Mask Rocky Peaks. Sun Wavy Rays 204G is stamped with Ranger Vintage Ink/Vanilla Bean. (or light orange) Be sure to stamp off on scrap paper once before stamping on the cardstock. The stamped sun will be VERY light in color.
Remove masks. Spruce Tree Large 078F is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink along bottom, lower left and lower right sides. This fills in the open space to the left and right of the chapel and also helps define more of the foreground. Hikers m/f 161A is stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.
Using a yellow pastel pencil, apply yellow over the entire sky area, blend with a stump. Bring some of the yellow down on the mountain peaks with the stump. Using an orange pastel pencil, apply orange over the stamped orange areas of the sun, blend with a stump. Once again, bring some of the orange down onto the mountain peaks with the stump.
Using a light gray pastel pencil, apply color over mountains but do not apply color on top of the yellow/orange a the peaks, blend with a stump. Using a light brown pastel pencil, streak in brown over the mountains, starting at the bottom upwards, blend with a stump.
Using the same light brown pastel pencil, apply color over entire ground area, then use a medium green pastel pencil and apply color over the top of the brown over the ground area. Blend with a stump. Erase color from the hikers.
Using a red pastel pencil, lightly streak red over the wood areas of the chapel, repeat using a medium brown pastel pencil. Blend with a blender pen. Lightly mark with a medium gray pastel pencil over the steeple and blend with the blender pen.
Using a medium green pastel pencil, apply color over all trees, blend with stump. Using a dark green pastel pencil, apply color over the spruce trees that were stamped to the sides and bottom, blend with a stump.
Scribble on scrap paper with a dark blue pastel pencil, pick up the color with a blender pen and color the male hikerís cloths. Repeat with a red pastel pencil for the female hikerís cloths. Spray with sealant.
Using orange and red pastel pencils, apply more color to the sky area and blend with a stump. Using a black pastel pencil, add color to the shadow areas of the mountain peaks and blend with a stump. Spray with sealant.
Oak Branch 203G and Duck Trio in Flight 023A are stamped with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink. This will soften your sky. Spray with sealant.
