"Touch" 1997. Dye based colours, Studio 2 pens, Glossy card stock, White Opaque.

There was a story of a man that took a year of his life and set out in search of textures. Of his senses, his system seemed weighted towards the kinesthetic. With everything he saw, he would wonder what it would "feel" like. The clouds that ~twisted in the Sierra twilight sky. The arms of the warm octopus sun that set into the cracked terrain of Death Valley. The salty mist, built of the spindrift, that gave rise to hazy glow over the Pacific.

Scene 1) Boulders w/Lichen 205F and Cloud (Altocumulus) Lg. 194G complement each other in contrasting textures. The clouds were stamped in a variety of blues & purples. Pinks and additional blues were blended over the top.

Scene 2) Cracked Earth Lg. 181G is a nice foundation to any scene. On it's horizon rises --or sets-- the Sun (Wavy Rays) 204G.

Scene 3) Seaside Cove 139H sets the surface for an island retreat --a tropical island with the Palm Cluster 100D in the distance and Palm Frond Lg. 124F in the foreground for depth.
